534,972. Coating with metals. BRENNAN, J. B. Aug. 23, 1939, No. 24256. Convention date, Aug. 29, 1938. [Class 82 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] An electrode of finely divided cohering metallic particles has areas or strips strengthened locally by subsequent compacting or agglomerating, for example by fusing, thus providing a path or paths of greater conductivity or strength. In an example, Fig. 2, the particles are sprayed on to a woven base 20 and the compacted paths 22 extend longitudinally with cross connections 24 to one of which a terminal strip 14 which may itself be of sprayed material, is welded or otherwise secured. In a modification two sprayed units may be combined by lines of welding with or without a metal foil strip between them. In a further modification certain disconnected areas are fused. Specifications 433,481, 515,880, [both in Group XXXVI] and U.S.A. Specifications 2,135.492 are referred to. |
