The partially fire-tinned strip (1) of a coatable material is provided with at least one metal coating strip (2-5) on one or both of its sides, with the width of such strips less than the width (B) of the strip (1). An intermetallic phase is located between the material of the strip (1) and the coating strips (2-5). The strip (1) is characterised by the fact that the coating strips (2-5) in the longitudinal direction are separated from one another by regular and/or irregular distance (A1,A2,A3).
