The circuit has an electronic activating circuit and an additional actuating element as a contact or proximity switch without mechanical actuation. Preferably, a door handle (1) or a sensor element integrated in the door handle forms part of the contact or proximity switch. Typically the actuating element is a capacitive proximity switch. The door handle sensor element may form a response electrode (2) for the capacitive proximity switch, which may be located within the door handle, with the exception of the response electrode.
