ANALYSING A SURFACE-TREATED LAYER OF CONCRETE

A method of analysing a surface-treated layer (including coatings and impregnants) of a cementitious body by impedance spectroscopy. Also described is an apparatus for analysing a surface-treated layer (2) of a cementitious body (4) by impedance spectroscopy, the apparatus comprising: electrodes (6, 8) for applying an AC signal to said surface-treated layer (2) and cementitious body; and an analyzer for analysing response to said AC signal to determine variations in impedance of said surface-treated layer (2) with frequency.
