Treating de-greasing fluid to remove residues

A process and assembly facilitate continuous operation of a degreasing bath. Work-pieces subjected to a surface treatment process are degreased in a bath (1) which discharges liquid to an overflow return bath (2) and returning the liquid to the de-greasing bath (1) through a microfiltration or ultrafiltration assembly (3). The overflow basin (2) discharges (7.1) to a settlement tank (4) in which no rapid motion takes place. Part of the liquid from the overflow tank (2) is discharged to the settlement tank (4) in which a layer of deposits forms which are removed at intervals by a scraper (9). The residual solution less the impurities is discharged from the settlement tank (4) to the main degreasing bath (1).
