The invention relates to a process in which processing of the commands of a program in a computer is interrupted when there is a command during processing which requires synchronisation with a program on another computer. A set of synchronisation data for a partner program on at least one other computer is subsequently fed into the data interface by each participating program and switched to a reception state, and processing of the commands of a program is interrupted long enough to receive a set of synchronisation data from programs of the other computers.
