<p>A core for an electromagnetic clutch includes an outer core member (3) provided with a ring-shaped first bottom (2) inside a tubular outer wall (1) and an inner core member (6) provided with a ring-shaped second bottom (5) outside a tubular inner wall (4). The inner core member (6) is fitted into the inside of the outer core member (3) in such a way that the inner wall (4) and the outer wall (1) are opposed to each other and the first bottom and the second bottom (5) are superposed on each other, thereby forming a coil housing portion (8) among the outer wall, the inner wall and the portions of the first and second bottoms defined between both walls, and forming a housing space (9) inside the inner wall (4). An inside insulator (40) is provided outside the inner wall of the inner core member integrally provided with the ring-shaped second bottom outside the tubular inner wall. An electromagnetic coil is wound around the periphery of this inner insulator, and the outside of the solenoid coil is covered with an outside insulator (60). This inner core member is arranged inside the tubular outer wall of the outer core member from which the first bottom projects inward, and the first bottom and the second bottom are superposed on each other, and the solenoid coil is surrounded by the outer wall, the inner wall and the superposed first and second bottoms. An inner surface (1a) of an upper portion (50) of the outer wall has a size such that the inner surface (1a) is not in close contact with an outer surface (5a) of the second bottom when the inner core member is press-fitted, while an inner surface (1b) of a lower portion (51) of the same outer wall has a size such that the inner surface (1b) is in close contact with the outer surface when the inner core member is press-fitted. Each of the outer and inner core members is formed by pressing a metal plate.</p> |
