Incorporation of zirconium, nickel and/or copper into M41S results in selective sorption of bulky organic molecules. Zirconium, nickel and/or copper may be incorporated into M41S by exchange or impregnation. Sorption separation using as-synthesized M41S, which includes MCM-41 and MCM-48 materials is also disclosed. As-synthesized M41S is particularly useful for the sorption or organic compounds, such as azo dyes from aqueous waste streams. |
