A process and a device are described for continuous production of foam slabstock by foaming a reactive polyurethane mixture containing carbon dioxide dissolved under pressure. The pressure of the mixture is dissipated on passing through an annular slot-shaped relief area. Blockage of the slot owing to shifts in the peripheral surfaces of the slot is prevented.
