At least one sensor unit (1) establishes whether the drive is engaged or not and this information is transmitted as an output signal. A switch (3) receives the output signal as a control signal which is transmitted as signal to apply the brake if no drive is selected to prevent the vehicle from rolling. A second sensor (5) is provided for wheel movements and a comparator evaluates the output signals of each sensor, and the brake is applied if the comparator establishes movement of the wheels (6) with the drive not selected.
