The vehicle has a load support component (4). This is located on the floor (3) of the boot and is vertically adjustable by a servo motor. The load support component is designed for vertical travel and can lift the load upwards towards the boot lid. It is connected by coupling members to the boot lid (9). The load support and lifting component is connected to the floor of the boot by pivoting links (5,6). These links are dimensioned so that the load support component when lowered onto the floor is located in an area remote from the end of the vehicle.
