Opening and closing mechanism for car window with pinion and gear segment

The mechanism has a pinion (5) and a gear segment (6) which is pivoted by rotation of the pinion. A lift arm (7) attached to the window panel at its outermost end and is rotatable at the bottom end. A connecting member (8) has an end rotatable by the gear segment, while the other end is held rotatably by the lifting arm. The closed position of the window can be adjusted at a position at which a centre of rotation (A), at which the connecting member is held by the gear segment, crosses the alignment point between the pivot bearing point (B) of the gear segment and the centre of rotation (C) of the lifting arm, when the window is opened and closed by lever action of the connecting member and the lifting arm, due to the pivoting movement of the gear segment. A device controls the movement of at least the gear segment and/or the connecting member in the direction going beyond the alignment position of the centres of rotation (A,B,C).
