Plastic bottles testing system especially for leaks

The system (1) removes bottles (5), produced by blow moulding from a tubular blank (8), in a mould (3) in an auxiliary mould (4) from the point of manufacture for the performance of the leak test. A manipulator (2) located above the auxiliary mould has a test/gripping head. To seal off the bottle in preparation for the test the head is inserted in the bottle neck and, whilst the bottle is still in the auxiliary mould, the leak test is performed. The test/gripping head can lift the bottle and transport it along an overhead track (6) whilst still in the auxiliary mould as the test is performed.
