The coil former has a winding space (5) around the outside of a central core (3), defined by an end flange (2) with integral arms (6, 7), used for supporting contact pins on their outside surfaces, facing away from the winding space, with a wire guide slit between them. The wire guide slit is used for feeding the winding wires to the different contact pins and has a narrower width at the open end and a wider width at the closed and adjacent the central core.
