Transfer procedure for single or multicolour motif onto backing

A print format (11) is produced on a pattern in the form of a transfer material (10). The side of the pattern provided with the format is laid on a film (12) coated with an adhesive. The print format is impressed and fixed in the film by the action of a flat uniform pressure force in the region of 1-50 kg/sq. cm. at a predetermined temperature over a specific time. Control of the temperature action for the purpose of reducing the gas emission from component parts of the adhesive substance is effected by a temporary thermal buffer layer.
