PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a vehicle to travel according to a speed change pattern suitable for a travel mode by reading a gear ratio from a memory means, upon a driver's instruction regarding a shift-up or a shift-down operation, operating an actuator so as to correspond to the gear ratio, and changing the gear ratio of a continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: A continuously variable transmission 12 is formed to have a hydraulic actuator 45 of a secondary pulley 41 fed with line pressure from a primary regulator valve 82 at all times, and the hydraulic actuator 45 generates such a belt clamping force as depending on applied torque. On the other hand, a linear solenoid valve is controlled on the basis of a speed change signal SG4 sent from a control part 206 to a speed change solenoid 403, thereby generating control hydraulic pressure. In addition, hydraulic pressure applied under the control of a ratio control valve with the control hydraulic pressure is fed to the hydraulic actuator 43 of a primary actuator 43, thereby determining the gear ratio of the continuously variable transmission 12. |
