PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a titanium alloy for living body minimal in toxicity to a living body by preparing a titanium alloy which contains specific percentages of Fe, C, B, Al, and Pd and in which total content of C and B is specified. SOLUTION: A titanium alloy for living body, which has a composition consisting of, by weight ratio, 3.5-10% Fe, 0.5-2.5% C, 0-2.5% B, 0-7% Al, 0-0.3% Pd, and the balance essentially Ti with inevitable impurities and satisfying C+B<=2.5%, is prepared. Further, it is preferable to regulate the average grain size of the base phase to <=200μm by applying annealing treatment. By this method, the titanium alloy for living body, improved in ductility, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance and minimal in toxicity to a living body, can be obtained. |
