PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid electrolyte having high ion conductivity consisting essentially of Li2 S-SiS2 by specifying the total percentage content of OH groups included in Li2 S and SiS2 as the source material. SOLUTION: The total percentage content of OH groups included in Li2 S and SiS2 as the source material is controlled to <=500ppm, preferably <=100ppm. Namely, when the OH groups are included in Li2 S and SiS2 , a part of SLi bonds changes into OLi bonds in the synthesis of a solid electrolyte. When the amt. of OH group in the source material increases, the proportion of OLi bonds in the solid electrolyte also increases. Since the Coulomb force between -O<-> and Li<+> is larger than the force between S<-> and Li<+> , Li<+> which contributes to the ion conductivity of the solid electrolyte is firmly bonded to the glass skeleton and hardly diffused. Therefore, with a larger amt. of OLi bonds, the ion conductivity of the solid electrolyte decreases. |
