PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throttle valve control device favorable to the protection of the throttle valve to bring a throttle valve into gentle collision with a stopper when the reference position of the throttle valve is updated. SOLUTION: A throttle valve control device comprises a throttle valve; a DC motor; an opening detecting means; and a reference position updating means to update the reference position of a throttle opening. The reference position updating means causes the throttle valve to make access to a stopper in such a way that the throttle valve is operated at a given operation speed to an approach positionα, set in a position approaching the stopper. Thereafter, from the approach positionα, the operation speed of the throttle valve is reduced and is brought into gentle collision with the stopper.
