PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding that does not lose the functions of a porous material, has strength equal to or greater than that of a gypsum board, and can easily be disposed of. SOLUTION: A porous material with 3.5 mesh passes or less, and a suspension of an open fabric of natural fibers with average diameters of 0.1 to 2μm. opened by addition of water to the natural fibers, are mixed. The slurried mixture obtained is dewatered, dried, and molded to obtain a molding in which the porous material binds the open fabric of natural fibers as a binder. The porous material and a suspension of the open fabric of natural fibers are mixed as the suspension is passed between two of upper and lower grinding wheels that rotate in opposite directions. The porous material is at least one kind selected from a carbonaceous porous material, shirasu balloon, vermiculite, and zeolite. The natural fibers are of the cellulose type or a mixture of the cellulose and collagen type natural fibers. A layer of fire resistant material is provided over the surface of the molding. The porous material contains 0.1 to 1.5wt.% refractory compound.
