PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a catalyst to develop an excellent photocatalytic function regardless of radiation direction of light rays effective for actualization of the photocatalytic function by forming a photocatalyst-containing layer on the surface of a light transmissive substrate and specifying the transmittance of light rays with specified wavelength. SOLUTION: The light transmissive photocatalyst having pollution preventive function, deodorization function, and environmental air polluting substance-removing function comprises a light transmissive substrate and a photocatalyst-containing layer (a catalyst layer) in 0.1-10μm thickness formed on the substrate and has 10% or higher transmissive of light rays with 340nm wavelength. As the photocatalyst, titanium oxide, which is highly transparent, durable, and harmless, is preferably used. Optionally, metals such as vanadium, copper, palladium, etc., and their compounds may be added to the inside or the surface of the photocatalyst in order to heighten the photocatalytic function and it is preferable to use an adsorbent together with the photocatalyst in order to improve the deodorization function and the environmental air polluting substance-removing function. As the adsorbent, carbonaceous adsorbent agents such as activated carbon, zeolite-type adsorbent, molecular sieves, etc., are preferable. |
