PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating compsn. which can form a coating film greatly improved in acid resistance, flexibility, stain resistance, gloss, etc., without detriment to the finished appearance, weatherability, physical properties, etc. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains a hydroxylated vinyl resin contg. 40-90wt.% monomer units derived from an arom. vinyl monomer, a hydroxylated polyester resin, hexamethoxymethylmelamine and/or an etherified melamine resin obtd. by at least partly replacing methoxy groups of hexamethoxymethylmelamine by a 4C or higher alkoxy groups, fine polymer particles having an average particle size of 0.01-1μm, and a polysiloxane compd. repersented by the formula (wherein R1 , R2 , R3 , and R4 are each independently 1-10C alkyl, 1-10C alkoxy, or hydroxyl; R5 and R6 are each H or 1-10C alkyl; and (n) is an integer of 10-1.000).
