PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control lawn grass snow mold without worrying an environmental pollution by simply applying an antagonizing fungus against the pathogenic fungus of the lawn grass snow mold together with a specific auxiliary agent to lawn grasses, especially lawn grasses in a golf course, etc. SOLUTION: This method for controlling lawn grass snow mold comprises applying a fungus obtained from the sclerotium of the snow mold and having an antagonizing force against the snow mold to lawn grasses together with sodium alginate (a highly hydrophilic substance having a high viscosity). The sodium alginate is preferably applied in an amount of 5-100g/m<2> . The antagonizing fungus is preferably Pseudomonas fluorescens, especially Pseudomonas fluorescens A11 strain (FERM P-14269). On the application of the antagonizing fungus, a culture solution containing the cell bodies of the antagonizing fungus in an amount of 10<8> -10<9> cfu/ml is usually applied in an amount of approximately 10-3000ml/m<2> , preferably approximately 300-3000ml/m<2> . |
