PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain linearity in the direction of horizontal scanning of an image to be recorded, by softly setting acceleration conditions in starting the acceleration of carriages from a position between acceleration start positions with respect to the acceleration conditions in starting the acceleration of the carriages from the acceleration start positions. SOLUTION: When recording is performed in a maximum recordable region, an acceleration start position at the time of moving carriages 4 in a forward direction along a guide shaft 2 is expressed as a first acceleration start position HP1, and an acceleration start position at the time of moving the carriages 4 in a backward direction is expressed as a second acceleration start position HP2. With respect to acceleration conditions at the time of starting the acceleration of the carriages 4 from the first acceleration start position HP1 or from the second acceleration start position HP2, the acceleration conditions at the time of starting the acceleration of the carriages 4 from a position between the first acceleration start position HP1 and the second acceleration start position HP2 are softly set. |
