PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the starting at an adequate gear change ratio, when a specific starting mode such as a backward starting mode is detected in a vehicle furnishing a continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: While a single planetary type of forward and backward converting mechanism 19 is provided to an input shaft 6 to support the drive pulley 12 of a belt type CVT(continuously variable transmission) T, a clutch 28 for starting is provided to an output shaft 9 to support a driven pulley 14. In the forward starting time in which the reduction ratio of the forward and backward converting mechanism 19 is made 1.0, the starting is carried out by engaging the clutch 28 for starting after the gear change ratio of the belt type CVT T is made LOW, but in a backward starting time in which the gear change ratio is made larger than 1.0, the starting is carried out by engaging the clutch 28 for starting after the gear change ratio of the belt type CVT T is shifted up from the LOW to the OD side. |
