PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regenerate cation exchange resin whose function is lowered in a relatively short time by including a scrubbing process by air or an inert gas as to make the integrated ventilation quantity be a specified value at the time of regenerating the ion exchange resin by passing a chemical reagent through. SOLUTION: In the case of regenerating cation exchange resin used in a condensate desalination apparatus in a thermal power plant, the ion exchange resin in a desalination tower which reaches the water flow final point is transported to a regeneration tower 20. Then, back wash water is passed through from a lower part pipe 2 to pass an acidic regenerating agent through the cation exchange resin existing in a lower layer part of the tower 20 and the agent is discharged by a pipe 5 through a collector in a middle part of the tower 20 to regenerate the cation exchange resin. After that, only cation exchange resin is transported to a storage tank 30 and scrubbing is carried out and at that time, the integrated ventilation quantity for scrubbing is controlled to be 70[Nm<3> /m<2> ] or higher. The water in the tank containing organic eluted substances is exchanged with clean water by back washing or descending flow washing. |
