Date Nov. 9, 1995The described invention relates to the treatment of hyperexcited sensory nerve functions, e.g., neuropathia in human subjects, comprising parenteral administration of an amount of an adenosine receptor agonist to said subjects. It is demonstrated that an adenosine receptor agonist can alleviate or normalize hyperexcited sensory nerve functions such as the perception of touch, temperature, vibration, pain, pressure and disturbances in other sensory functions.
