PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the device which enables remarkable reduction in heat energy consumption. SOLUTION: In this device, garbage fed into a treatment vessel 11 through a feeding port 18 at the rear end of the vessel 11 is composted in the process of gradually propelling the garbage forward while mixing and cutting it and the composted product is continuously withdrawn as compost from the vessel 11 through a product withdrawal port 19 at the front end of the vessel 11. Also, a fermentation gas treatment that comprises deodorizing a fermentation gas generated in the fermentation vessel 11 and discharging the deodorized gas, is performed with an motor 40 for agitation and a blower 41 for gas suction/discharge so as to minimize the heat energy consumption.
