PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a metallic honeycomb catalyst capable of improving cleaning efficiency and having simple structure. SOLUTION: Metallic flat sheet 1 and corrugated sheet 2 are superposed, and a winding shaft by which end parts 1a, 2a thereof are engaged is rotated plural times and the flat sheet 1 and the corrugated sheet 2 are wound around the winding shaft to form a spiral-state wound member. A passage 7 is completely closed by the edge parts 1b, 2b at the bending side deformed near the end parts 1a, 2a of the flat sheet 1 and the corrugated sheet 2 arranged in the diameter direction of the passage 7 in the center winding part of a metallic honeycomb carrier 6 formed by pulling out the winding shaft from the wound member to prevent exhaust gas G from flowing the passage 7. Or the passage 7 is closed by being provided with gap and the exhaust gas G passing through the gap is brought into contact with the catalystic body to execute the cleaning. In the final process, the metallic honeycomb carrier 6 is coated with the catalystic body to form the metallic honeycomb catalyst 8. |
