PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diversify the very crystal grain patterns produced on the surface and obtain an excellent decorative property by forming metallic crystal grain patterns having a different grain size and/or a directional property from a fundamental region except its pattern region on a pattern region made up of a predetermined region in the surface of a decorative metallic molded item. SOLUTION: During manufacturing decorative metal castings, in a cast- solidifying process, a region having a larger crystal grain size than in the peripheral region is formed locally by integrally forming a thermal insulation part 2 so as to cause patterns to be varied in the crystal grain patterns. For instance, a design is done such that formed on a plate 1 of 100×100mm and a thickness of 10mm is a cylindrical thermal insulation part 2 of an inner diameter of 60mm, an outer diameter of 80mm, and a height of 15mm, resulting in obtaining a cast product with the thermal insulation part 2 projected on the major body 1. Then, by removing the thermal insulation part 2 at a thermal insulation removal process before finishing and polishing the surface, a cast product is formed having a pattern region 4 with patterns produced different from the patterns in its peripheral region.
