A procedure for pressing conductors 22 of a rotor winding into parallel-sided rotor slots uses a special tool 24. Its working edge stretches down the slot, exerting an even force on the stack of conductors. At the same time, it presses together the free edges of the slot at the top. The initial conductor diameter equals the slot width. The plate is cut away at the ends 30 where it overhangs the rotor core, so that only the conductors in the core, and not in the overhang, are pressed together. The tool is essentially a plate with stops 34 at the sides. |
