Textile material requiring ironing is kept in a basket (6) joined to the ironing board (2) and/or its stand (1), the basket extending in the board length direction along the opposite length side of the board to that on which the hanger fitting (4) is secured. The ironing board has a fitting secured to it and/or its stand for hanging ironed pieces of textile material, the fitting including at least one hanger rod (5) extending along one length side of the board at a distance from this side, so that the material forms at least one bend between the board and fitting.
