A metal ball for a ball game, particularly boules, made by joining two hemispherical shells (1) along the equatorial plane (E) of the ball. Said shells are made particularly by stamping/swaging, forming, casting or machining, and each shell (1) has raised patterns on the inner surface thereof for attenuating the propagation of a shock wave when the ball is thrown. Said patterns consist of separate ribs (2, 3) provided only on some or all of the meridian lines (M).
