The system consists of ground based equipment (3) and a test aircraft (1) with an airborne GPS equipment (2). The ground based equipment (3) comprises readily portable sound level equipment for taking measurements at key frequencies, while measurements are related to a reference time. These results are transmitted over the public telephone system to a data serving network which also receives the position and attitude data from the test aircraft (1), which carries equipment referring the data to its position. Display units show the trajectory of the test aircraft and the resulting sound map at various frequencies. |
