The apparatus has a bar (2) positioned above the conveyor fitted with a number of grabbers (3), which can be moved between an active and an inactive position. The grabbers can be moved backwards and forwards along the conveyor so that in the forward direction they engage with a pallet and urges it forwards, and in the backward direction they move past the pallet. The distance between two successive front grabbers is different than the distance between two successive grabbers further behind, enabling a front pallet to be separated from the pallets behind it whilst it is being moved along the conveyor. |
