A sample analyser (1) incorporating a sensor unit for providing a desired analysis of a sample. The analyser comprises a first body portion (2) having a sensor surface (13a) (of the sensor unit 9) to which a sample is applied for effecting said analysis, a second body portion (3) which is openable and closable together with said first body portion (2), means for defining a chamber incorporating said sensor surface (13a) when the first and second body portions are in the closed position, at least one reservoir for holding a treatment liquid (24) and being capable of communicating with said chamber and means for providing for a supply of treatment liquid (24) to the chamber when the body portions are closed.
