Liqueur, based on water alcohol and sugar

Liqueur drink, based on water, alcohol and sugar, comprises an aqueous alcoholic extract of dried hop umbels. Also claimed are a method for the preparation of the drink comprising: (i) mixing dried hop umbels and optional extra ingredients (eg. chopped orange peel, vanilla sugar or white or brown candy sugar); (ii) shaking at room temperature with an aqueous alcoholic sugar solution; (iii) leaving to stand for at least 7 days, during which the mixture is shaken at least once a day; and (iv) filtering.
