An apparatus for sizing warp yarns (1) comprising an unwinding station (2) of the warps from a supply beam (3), an application assembly (13) of a sizing liquor onto the warp yarns including application cylinders (5) and guiding rollers (4, 12), a drier station including a horizontal drying oven (6), and a winding station (8) of the warps onto an outlet beam (9). The warp yarns (1) are advanced through the drying oven (6) along a straight path without any bearing means between the exit of the application assembly (13) and the exit (14) of the drying oven (6), and the drying oven (6) is equipped with a combined heating system including infrared ray radiator sources (X) and hot air blower sources (Y) operated simultaneously and in a combined fashion. Peculiar features are provided for enhancing treatment evenness and adhesion of the sizing material to the warp yarns. |
