The fastening comprises a series of notched clip connections between the moulding (9) and the mounting (13). The connections are spaced at close intervals along and at the end of the plastics parts adjacent to the step (7) of the recess in the vehicle body shell. The notched connection components are formed in one piece with the respective moulding and mounting. The connection is made on the rear face of the moulding and cannot be seen from the outside. Ribs on the moulding or mounting act as spacers to the step.
