Biodegradeable packaging material suitable for deep-drawing

The material for deep drawing, esp. packaging material, has at least one non-woven layer of natural fibres, e.g. flax, hemp or similar, with a binder to allow reversible, non- destructive sliding of the fibres under pressure and heat. Also claimed is a deep-drawable material with a binder applied to the non-woven consisting of a cellulose acetate or starch film which combines with the fibres under pressure and heat. Also claimed are corresponding manufacturing processes incorporating alternatives of dry or wet forming of the material and dry or wet deep drawing of the article.
