The electronic device has a housing (10) receiving a number of interchangeable circuit cards (27), each contained in a respective cassette (16) with plug connections accessible via openings in the cassette for connection with socket connections provided by the housing. Each cassette has a frame of a heat conductive material, fitted with a heat sink plate provided with cooling ribs for dissipating the waste heat generated by the electronic components mounted in the circuit card on one side and with a heating device with temperature-controlled heating elements on its other side.
