The invention relates to a device for treatment of fuels extracted from mineral oil or plants. Said device has a heating device (3) for heating the liquid fuel, and a reactor (1) which contains at least one reactor element (4) consisting of, at least partially on the surface, a tin alloy. Said tin alloy contains 0.2 to 20 wt% of copper acting as the alloy element which has the largest proportion in weight and is added to the tin. The reactor element comprises a plurality of grains which are loose or connected to each other and have a transverse size of a maximum of 5 mm.
