Equipment for manufacturing components in foamed thermoplastic particles includes a mould (11) comprising two or more shells (11A, 11B) into which prefoamed particles are fed via an inlet (21) and then foamed further under heat and steam to fuse and/or sinter them together. For forming a groove around the parting line of a moulding a projection (14) is attached to one shell (11B) along one side of the mould parting line (13) and extends inwards into the cavity (17). A component made in the mould from foamed thermoplastic particles has a groove running around the entire periphery on the parting line formed by the mould shells.
