The output maximum point detection circuit has an output detection unit (20) for producing an output detection signal, which corresponds to an output voltage (Vc) and an output current (Vc) of a solar cell (10). A signal prodn. unit (30) produces a scanning signal (S1-S2) and a maximum output point differentiation unit (40) is provided for comparing a previous charging amount with an existing charging amount. This is carried out corresp. to the output detection signal for a specified time, in response to the scanning signal and for determining, that an output power of the solar cell (10), reduces, if the previous charging amount is greater than the existing charging amount, so that a distinguishing signal is produced.
