Composite plastic tube production and manufacturing plant

In the production of plastic tubes comprising a plastic inner tube, a layer of perforated metal foil, preferably aluminium, and an outer extruded plastic layer, the metal foil (16) is applied onto the inner tube (10) and the composite assembly passes through a tubular oven (20, 22) where the plastic of the inner tube (10) softens and penetrates the perforations in the foil (16). The outer plastic layer is then coextruded around the tubular assembly while the plastic in the perforations is still soft. Also claimed is the process equipment comprising station (18) for rolling the perforated metal foil (16) onto the inner plastic tube (10) followed by a tubular oven (20, 22) and a coextrusion unit (26).
