To design a transport data stream, in particular for synchronisation of sending systems in a common wave network, data and additional packets are housed in a frame structure. The data rates of the data and additional packets are derived for various operating methods by division of a supply data rate. The additional packets contain control and synchronisation information. The design of the transport data stream is suitable for transmitting MPEG2 transport streams. An additional remote control system of the sending systems and additional synchronisation is not required.
