A tire circumference measuring apparatus is provided that accurately measures a circumference length of a green tire using a mechanical and automatical method. The tire circumference measuring apparatus includes a shaping drum rotation sensor for sensing a rotation number of a green tire(1) being rotated, a horizontal movement unit for moving an encoder wheel(2) and encoder(3) so as to be contacted to or separated from a surface of the green tire, a circumference measurement unit for measuring the size of the circumference of the green tire by counting a rotation of the encoder wheel, and a controller for sequentially operating the shaping drum rotation sensor and the horizontal movement unit, receiving an electric signal from the circumference measurement unit and operating it to obtain a circumference length of the green tire and then display it.
