<p>The boiler (1) wall (7) has an internal peripheral shoulder (17), extended by equally spaced resilient fingers (8). The rim of the transfer plate (4), which closes the boiler at the bottom, is folded to give a modified inverted U cross-section (4b, 4d, 4c). The outer wing (4c) is retained by a rebate in the fingers (8). A heat-resistant eg. silicone gasket (10) is trapped between the intermediate section (4d) and the shoulder (17). The transfer plate is integrated with a thicker distribution plate (5), the resistive heating element (3) being intimately bonded to its underside. A moulded hollow base (11, 12), locked by snap-action catches (13, 14) to the fingers, and flush-fitting to the boiler wall, protects the bottom compartment (2), thermal cut-out (6), etc., and maintains the seal.</p> |
