PURPOSE:To form quickly and easily a crosslinked resin excellent in heat resistance, chemical resistance and mechanical properties, by reacting a thermoplastic polymer or oligomer under heating with a polycycloiminoether in the presence of a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polymer and/or a thermoplastic oligomer (A) [desirably, linear one having at least one group selected from an aromatic (methyl)amino group and an OH group and an m.p. <=300 deg.C] is reacted under heating with a polycycloiminoether (B) of formula I (wherein n is 2-4, R is an n-valent hydrocarbon group, Z is a direct bond or a group of formula II, and Ra and Rb are each H, CH3, C2H5, C3H7, phenyl, tolyl or benzyl, provided that R may be a direct bond when n=2), e.g., 2,2'-m-phenylenebis(2-oxazoline), in the presence of a catalyst (e.g., p-toluenesulfonic acid). A crosslinked resin which is tough and excellent in heat resistance, chemical resistance, etc. can be obtained quickly and easily. |
