A braking force controller which executes a normal control for boosting a wheel cylinder pressure by using a master cylinder (32) as a hydraulic source and a brake assist control for boosting the wheel cylinder pressure by using a pump (12) and an accumulator (20) as the hydraulic source while communication between the master cylinder (32) and a wheel cylinder (44**) is cut off. When a request to end the brake assist control arises, the wheel cylinder pressure is first reduced. When the wheel cylinder pressure is sufficiently reduced, communication between the wheel cylinder (44**) and the master cylinder (32) is restored. <IMAGE> |
